The Security Systems Installer will be responsible for duties that include, but are not limited to: - Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot access control panels and systems.
- Install card readers, request-to-exit devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, motion sensors, door contacts, and other access control components.
- Install and service CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
- Install low-voltage cabling and cable pathway systems, including cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks, D-rings, and related infrastructure.
- Pull, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone, and other low-voltage cabling.
- Properly dress, route, secure, and organize cabling within telecommunications closets, equipment rooms, and security control rooms.
- Install appropriate fire-stopping materials at cable penetrations in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, schematics, submittals, and manufacturer documentation.
- Perform system testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, multimeters, testing equipment, and handheld power tools safely and effectively.
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Accurately document installations, repairs, testing results, equipment information, and completed work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area at customer locations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, contractors, and other members of the installation team.
- Protect customer property and confidential security information while working at client facilities.
- Follow all company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on project and operational requirements.
