Job Description
Title: SEL Teacher Leader
Positions:
- SEL Leader at ECS
- SEL Leader at Primary
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid New York State certification related to leadership position (i.e., Elementary, Special Education, Social Worker, Counselor, Psychologist)
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with data analysis to inform student intervention
- Knowledge of best practices related to Tier 1-3 behavioral interventions, strategies and social-emotional learning
- Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting
- Able to work effectively with a variety of staff and groups
Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in the development of SEL curriculum as needed
- Participates in pilot programs
- Assists teachers with the interpretation of data
- Presents pertinent information at monthly Building Leadership Team meetings
- Meets with the Building Principal as needed
- Serves on Building Leadership Team
- Helps to plan, facilitate, and prepare team/department/PLC meetings
- Provide guidance and coordination for Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) related to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and behavioral needs.
- Helping to contribute to a positive school culture and climate
- Support and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment
- Serves on district committees aligned with the teacher leader work
- Gathers information related to SEL needs
- Plans and coordinates SEL systems for the building
- Coordinates building-wide SEL-related events and activities
- Provides leadership in implementing and evaluating initiatives
- Serves as a consultant to the teachers in their respective building or department
- Attends training as deemed appropriate by the administration
- Conducts workshops, demonstrations, or in-service training for teachers as needed
- Provides input into staff development programs and conference day planning
- Serves on pertinent interview committees as needed
- Maintains confidentiality with staff, student, and family information
Reports to: Principal
Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association
Terms of Employment:
The position of Elementary Grade Level Teacher Leader is a ten-month position. The terms are established in accordance with the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by district administration.
