A growing custom home builder in Greater Richmond is looking for a friendly, organized, and enthusiastic Selections Coordinator who enjoys connecting with people and helping homeowners bring their ideas to life.

You don't need a long career in custom homebuilding to be considered. If you bring customer-service experience, an eye for design, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn, we'd love to hear from you. Experience in retail design, furniture, flooring, cabinetry, real estate, hospitality, or another customer-facing role can provide a valuable foundation.

As the Selections Coordinator, you will help homeowners choose the finishes, colors, materials, and options that make their homes feel personal. You'll combine welcoming client conversations with careful organization, keeping decisions documented and on schedule. Training and professional-development opportunities will help you build your knowledge of products, selections, and the homebuilding process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming, enjoyable experience as you guide homeowners through finish, fixture, color, material, and option selections.
• Stay in touch with clients weekly, answer questions, and help them feel informed and confident.
• Keep selections moving on schedule and explain how decisions affect pricing and construction timelines.
• Maintain accurate selection sheets, specifications, pricing, and option documents.
• Prepare change orders, obtain required signatures, and collect applicable client payments.
• Work with estimating to obtain pricing for custom selections and upgrades.
• Share complete, finalized selection information with sales, estimating, production, and field teams.
• Coordinate client appointments with suppliers and trade partners when needed.
• Help select finishes for speculative homes and contribute to model-home design decisions.
• Keep the Design Center organized, inviting, and up to date.
• Help clients understand homeowner documents and their responsibilities during the selections process.
• Work with the team to resolve selection issues before they cause delays or rework.
• Create engaging social media content featuring design inspiration, trends, and the custom-home experience.

Qualifications:

• A warm, enthusiastic approach and a genuine interest in helping people.
• An interest in residential design, colors, materials, and finishes.
• Customer-service or other client-facing experience; design or homebuilding experience is a plus.
• Strong organization and attention to detail--you enjoy the creative side and follow through on the paperwork.
• Clear communication and the ability to listen, explain options, and help clients make decisions.
• Willingness to learn residential construction processes, product options, pricing, and selections systems.
• A positive, solutions-focused attitude when plans or priorities change.
• Confidence asking questions and collaborating with teammates, suppliers, and trade partners.
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software.
• Social media or content-creation experience is an asset.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends based on client and project needs.

Compensation:

• Full-time, exempt position.
• Pay: $75,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience.
