The primary function of this position is to accurately select cases, bags, and other containers of refrigerated food products-including meat, dairy, and produce-to fulfill customer orders within a multi-level warehouse storage system. Selected items are palletized and transported to the shipping dock staging area using an Electric Power Jack (EPJ). Orders are then wrapped, labeled, and prepared for shipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review daily work schedules and obtain the necessary tools, equipment, and communication devices required for operations.
- Conduct safety inspections on Power Jacks, forklifts, and other equipment before use.
- Operate Power Jacks and forklifts to retrieve products from assigned warehouse storage racks.
- Select and manually place stock items onto pallets from first and second-level racks.
- Transport completed customer orders to the shipping dock staging area.
- Verify product counts, inspect for damaged goods, and complete required documentation.
- Wrap, label, and prepare palletized orders for shipment.
- Rotate date-sensitive inventory and maintain organized, clean work areas.
- Remove and properly dispose of empty pallets, cardboard, and packing materials.
- Inspect pallets for damage and transport pallets to designated storage areas.
- Rotate between order selecting and trailer loading duties as assigned.
- Perform general housekeeping throughout warehouse, loading dock, and trailer areas.
- Change or recharge equipment batteries and complete inspection checklists.
- Secure equipment and complete all required paperwork at the end of each shift.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times.
- Must meet company productivity, quality, and performance standards.
- Must participate in company orientation and training programs.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts and required overtime.
- 6 months to 1 year of Electric Power Jack (EPJ) experience preferred.
- Ability to handle boxes weighing approximately 35-65 lbs.
