This role is hands-on and highly visible—supporting month-end and year-end close, inventory and cost accounting, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting fundamentals, thrives in startup pace, and can operate independently on complex work while partnering effectively across teams.
What Youll Do
General Ledger & Close
Own key components of the month-end and year-end close, including preparation and posting of journal entries
Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies proactively
Maintain and improve the chart of accounts and supporting schedules to ensure clean, scalable reporting
Inventory & Cost Accounting
Lead inventory accounting processes to ensure accurate valuation and reporting of manufacturing activities
Perform cost analysis and support costing methodologies (standard/actual costing as applicable)
Partner with operations to understand drivers of inventory movement, variances, and production costs
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and recurring management reporting
Deliver variance analyses and clear explanations for leadership to support decision-making
Ensure timely, accurate reporting with strong documentation and traceability
Compliance, Controls & Audit Support
Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensuring policies are followed and risks are identified early
Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements (with support from internal/external partners as needed)
Operational Accounting Oversight
Review and support workflows across AP/AR, including vendor aging, expense processing, and policy compliance
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy, timeliness, and control
What Were Looking For
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years focused on inventory and cost accounting
Experience in a manufacturing environment and comfort operating in a startup / high-growth setting
Strong knowledge of GAAP, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines independently
