Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established Oakland, CA organization to identify a Senior Accountant. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands-on accounting work, partnering across departments, and helping improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong general ledger accounting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with operational teams, finance leadership, and accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end close activities.

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.

• Analyze financial data and prepare supporting schedules and reports.

• Partner closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

• Assist with bank reconciliations and account analysis.

• Support financial statement preparation and reporting requirements.

• Assist with audit requests and annual audit preparation.

• Provide guidance and support to accounting team members regarding workflow and process improvements.

• Work directly with senior leadership and finance stakeholders to deliver requested financial information and reporting.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

• Experience working with balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

• Construction, project-based, engineering, manufacturing, or similar industry experience preferred.

• Understanding of work-in-progress accounting and project-related accounting concepts.

• Previous exposure to audits and external reporting requirements.

Pay Details: $40.23 to $48.97 per hour, the role is temp to hire and will start in October.
