Senior Accountant

Pay Rate:$70,000–$90,000/year; Based on experience
Location:Albany, NY (On-site)
Employment Type:Direct Hire
Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Experience: Must have 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and advanced Excel required
Software: Experience with ERP systems required

Newly created position of Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is ready to take on increased responsibility while partnering closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will include:

• Serve as a key resource and backup to the Controller
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist in preparing accurate financial statements
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Verify, enter, and process invoices
• Perform daily credit card reconciliations
• Communicate professionally with vendors regarding accounting matters
• Participate in cross-training to support the accounting team during peak workloads
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications for the role of Senior Accountant:

Required:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with ERP systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software

Preferred:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
