About Us:

We are a single-source solution for the design and implementation of sophisticated mechanical and plumbing systems. Our integrated in-house production model utilizes coordinated BIM models to produce precise fabrication documentation to help ensure accurate installation.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant supports the financial operations of a construction company with a focus on job cost accounting, project reporting, and general ledger activities. This role ensures accurate tracking of project costs, invoices, and revenues while assisting with month-end close, financial statements, and compliance with GAAP. This role works closely with project managers and accounting leadership to monitor budgets, analyze variances, and support the financial performance of construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate job cost accounting, including tracking labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and overhead by project
  • Record and reconcile general ledger transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
  • Review project budgets and costs; identify and investigate cost variances
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including subcontractor payments and progress billings
  • Support project billing, retainage tracking, and change order accounting
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with external audits, internal audits, and tax filings as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to provide financial insight and reporting
  • Maintain organized accounting records and support continuous improvement of accounting processes
  • Assist with special accounting projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Construction accounting preferred, or work experience demonstrating advance accounting and analytical capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
  • Sales and Use tax reporting
  • Vista Viewpoint ERP experience preferred
  • Fixed asset and lease reporting

 

Compensation Range:   Minimum annual base salary $80,000 to maximum annual base salary $95,000

 

Other Compensation:  position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
