Senior Accountant

A growing, privately held manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team. Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting experience and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Extensive, recent hands-on experience with Sage 100
  • Strong background in job costing and allocation of costs to jobs and overhead
  • Working knowledge of inventory costing methodologies (e.g., FIFO, Weighted Average)
  • Solid understanding of inventory components including raw materials, work in process, and finished goods
  • Familiarity with bills of materials, subassemblies, and part numbering structures
  • Ability to develop and apply allocations for both direct and indirect manufacturing overhead

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts, including revenue, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee accounts payable activity to ensure accurate documentation, proper authorization, timely entry, and on-time payments
  • Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet supporting schedules
  • Assist with the monthly preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, internal controls, efficiency, and automation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred, not required)
  • Experience working with and supporting a small accounting team
