Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Finance Manager / Accounting Manager / Controller
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role also provides financial analysis, mentors junior accounting staff, and assists with audits and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate journal entries.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and company policies.
Prepare tax and statutory filings as applicable.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
58 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
