Senior Accountant – General Ledger

This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, supporting the month-end close process, managing payroll-related accounting, cash reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. Location: Boca Raton, FL. (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000 (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Play a key role in the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
• 
  
• Record treasury and cash management activities, including bank reconciliations.
• 
  
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate routine tasks.
• 
  
• Record and reconcile payroll transactions and related balance sheet accounts.
• 
  
• Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll expense coding.
• 
  
• Research, analyze, and explain account variances as part of monthly financial reporting.
• 
  
• Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• 
  
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• 
  
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to support business operations.
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, reporting requirements, and established deadlines.
• 
  
• Support special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned.
• 
  
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment while continuously seeking operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 
  
• 3–5 years of general ledger accounting experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting.
• 
  
• CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred; Master's degree is a plus.
• 
  
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (experience with Sage Intacct, BlackLine, or similar platforms is preferred).
• 
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• 
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• 
  
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
