Job DescriptionHamister Group is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, analytic Senior Accountant to join our growing team at our corporate office in downtown Buffalo. If you enjoy digging into the details, critical thinking while solving challenges, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack cash deposit activity and reconcile to property management systems, bank statements, and credit card activity.Review expense activity for proper coding and budgetary compliance.Investigate variances with operations teams and assist in creating improved procedures to reduce risk.Collect daily and monthly revenue reports from operating entities, review for accuracy, reconcile discrepancies with property management systems, and post activity to the general ledger.Follow up on outstanding issues and ensure timely resolution of reporting concerns.Assist in the creation and implementation of operating procedures designed to improve reporting efficiencies.Reconcile balance sheet accounts to appropriate supporting detail on a monthly basis.Complete monthly sales and use tax reports.Prepare work papers for annual audit and tax return preparation.Reconcile and post various subsystem activity, including payroll, to the general ledger, as well as benefit payroll deductions to billings.Accounting & Financial OperationsExecute month-end and year-end closing activities.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial information and accounting records.Perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.Review general ledger activity and maintain supporting documentation.Support forecasting and budgeting processes.Work closely with external auditors and provide supporting schedules and documentation as needed.Assist the Controller in preparing corporate financial statements and consolidations.Support the analysis of corporate financial operations to ensure the business is operating efficiently and effectively.Leadership & SupportServe as the primary accounting contact for assigned entitiesSupport General Managers, Executive Directors, and property-level operational teams on financial reporting and accounting-related topics.Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.Participate in special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements that support organizational growth and efficiency.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting required.Five (5) years of related accounting experienceBenefitsFree ParkingHybrid work environment after 90 days of employmentPaid Time OffTwo pay increases per year, based on performanceHealth, Dental, Vision plans offeredand more!#J-18808-Ljbffr
