Our client is a well-established, growing organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This position offers a strong blend of hands-on accounting, financial reporting, and analytical responsibilities, along with direct exposure to senior leadership. Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Camden, NJ - (Onsite)

Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and oversee transaction-level accounting activity including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and journal entries
  • Ensure accuracy, proper coding, and supporting documentation across all entries
  • Monitor the general ledger for discrepancies and initiate corrections as needed
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany)
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Maintain and execute the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Prepare financial schedules and variance analysis for management
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Support external audits and tax processes, including workpaper preparation
  • Maintain lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842 (Lease Accounting Standard)
  • Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and system enhancements
  • Assist with annual budgeting process and departmental coordination
  • Perform monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis and communicate key insights
  • Support ongoing budget tracking and ad hoc reporting requests

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
  • Strong understanding of general ledger and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall systems aptitude
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
