Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for technical accounting research, financial reporting, general ledger management, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role will partner with cross-functional departments to support financial operations, maintain strong internal controls, and provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Accounting
Research and analyze technical accounting matters related to U.S. GAAP and emerging accounting standards.
Prepare accounting memos and documentation supporting complex accounting transactions.
Assist with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and reporting requirements.
Support revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical accounting areas as applicable.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements.
Perform variance analyses and provide explanations of financial results.
Support management reporting and ad hoc financial analysis requests.
Assist with annual audits, regulatory reporting, and preparation of financial statement disclosures.
General Ledger & Month-End Close
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Lead assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure timely completion of reconciliations and supporting documentation.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls over financial reporting.
Support external auditors by providing schedules, analyses, and documentation.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies within accounting workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA designation preferred.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience researching and applying technical accounting guidance.
Advanced understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Experience supporting external audits and internal control compliance.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
Experience with ERP systems.
