Key Duties & Responsibilities - Essential function and responsibilities of job, in order of importance
The Role's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue, and fixed assets.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of accountants; provide coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to inquiries.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Supply-Chain and other departments to support business initiatives and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Contribute to special projects such as system upgrades, process automation, or financial integration for M&A activity.
Required Experience (Minimum experience & education needed to successfully execute the job)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
Preferred Experience (Desired experience & education levels for incumbents in the role)
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Cloud Fusion or similar) and BI reporting is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
