Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
A leading real estate investment management firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team in Charlotte, NC. This is a mid-level accounting role offering exposure across corporate accounting, accounts payable, expense allocation, treasury operations, financial reporting, and process improvement.
The role will primarily focus on preparation and execution, with opportunities to take on review responsibilities and broader accounting initiatives as experience develops.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and process travel and expense reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, policy compliance, and appropriate allocation across the management company, funds, and investment entities.
Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approval coordination, payment processing, and vendor communication.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding expense reporting and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Manage vendor onboarding and support annual vendor risk assessments and due diligence.
Assist with annual 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC reporting.
Support treasury operations, including wire and ACH processing, bank account administration, and user entitlements.
Assist with corporate accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and other period-end activities.
Support expense allocation and other management company accounting activities.
Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve accounting processes and controls.
Partner with the Controller and Corporate Accounting team on special projects and additional initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Approximately 1 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Public accounting experience serving real estate clients, or corporate accounting experience within real estate, asset management, or investment management, preferred.
Experience with accounts payable and/or T&E expense processing.
Exposure to management company or corporate accounting is a plus.
Strong Excel skills;experience with SAP Concur or similar systems preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
