Position Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is an integral member of our accounting team and will play a key role in supporting the Company's continued growth.

This position is ideal for someone seeking long-term career advancement. You'll assist with month-end close, project accounting, financial reporting, and account analysis while working directly with the Chief Financial Officer on strategic initiatives.

This role offers outstanding opportunities for professional growth and future financial leadership within the Company.

Essential Responsibilities:

Enter new vendors and maintain existing vendor records.
Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and monthly reconciliations.
Monitor and review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging reports.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity.
Support Accounts Receivable and Project Management with AIA billings, T&M billings, and customer invoicing.
Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules using percentage-of-completion accounting.
Perform monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations.
Assist with annual audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting policies and internal controls.
Mentor and support accounting team members.
Partner directly with the CFO on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
Five or more years of accounting experience preferred.
Construction accounting and job costing experience strongly preferred.
Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and WIP reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with Vista by Viewpoint preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
