Position Overview

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This position is responsible for complex accounting tasks, month‑end close activities, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting to parent company for consolidation purposes.

  • Prepare schedules and reporting for annual financial statement audit, including footnote disclosure support and preparation of supporting schedules for income tax reporting.

  • Determine appropriate revenue & cost recognition/% complete on engineered solutions jobs in progress

  • Monitor and review new equipment and engineered solutions sales throughout the month to ensure completeness and accuracy of transactions. Advise the appropriate sales coordinator(s) on proper recording of costs and billings.

  • Create, implement, and provide ongoing leadership for the organization's full balance sheet reconciliation process.

  • Partner with auditors by preparing detailed schedules and providing clear, timely responses throughout internal and external audits.

  • Maintain new billing codes in the ERP system for revenue streams, new GL accounts and improving financial statement mapping to continually improve financial reporting and accuracy.

  • Monitor and review used equipment sales throughout the month to ensure completeness and accuracy of transactions.

  • Generate reports on equipment inventory and collaborate with departments to monitor and track the accuracy of inventory.

  • Provide guidance to other departments on non-standard transactions and transactions that involve multiple departments to ensure transactions are accurate and complete.

  • Provide support and back up to, through cross training, other accounting team members to support team flexibility.

  • Support the Sr. Financial Analyst with the preparation and consolidation of departmental annual budgets and periodic budget updates.

  • Support annual budget and periodic budget updates to parent company through consolidation reporting.

  • Provide support to the individual overseeing sales tax compliance, sales tax filings, and the setup of new tax codes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by CFO or Controller.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 3–7 years of experience in an Accounting and/or Finance role

  • CPA license required or actively in progress

  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on accounting experience with journal entries, accruals, inventory management, costing, budget preparation, and financial reporting

  • Experience with:

  • Month-end close processes

  • Revenue recognition, including percentage-of-completion and long-term contract accounting

  • Inventory accounting and job costing

  • Audit preparation and coordination

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data and financial analysis.
