Description
Kforce's client in Columbia, MD is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support capital project accounting, fixed asset management, and financial reporting. This role will oversee project-related expenses, reconcile capital expenditures, support Workday data accuracy, and assist with ERP conversion cleanup. The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track, record, and reconcile capital expenditures across assigned projects
- Monitor project budgets, actuals, and variances
- Maintain accurate project and capital asset data in Workday
- Process fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
- Prepare depreciation schedules, asset summaries, and project cost analyses
- Support journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting activities
- Review and clean up data from ERP conversion issues
- Research discrepancies and resolve complex accounting or reporting issues
- Partner with agencies, leadership, and management teams to support project accounting needs
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and reliable for decision-making
