Candidates must reside in the general vicinity of Columbus, Ohio.Book+Street® is a professional services firm focused on helping startup companies start off right, right from the start! We provide CFO + Controllership services to a growing client base, along with a suite of complementary services to help our client companies scale.We're looking for an experienced SENIOR ACCOUNTANT who loves a challenge, understands and appreciates the sense of urgency often required when dealing with a diverse startup client base and the demands of a consulting firm. Selected individual will work full-time as a member of our team, providing Controllership services to a portfolio of our growing startup client base.Our ideal candidate will LOVE working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment and be able to handle multiple, competing priorities every day. They will be able to collaborate openly with team members and clients, lean in and solve problems.They will also be aligned with our CORE STRATEGIC VALUES:WIT – You'll do whatever it takes to ensure our clients' needs are met!Wisdom – You are always learning, through research and continuing education!The 3Cs – You will communicate, collaborate and cooperate to ensure team and client success!GSDADL – You will have the time management skills and drive to deliver on client needs and meet minimum productivity requirements of 80% billable time worked based on a 40-hour work week.The Senior Accountant will work with our CFO Services team, and will manage the following functions for multiple client companies:Manage daily accounting function for a portfolio of client startup companiesManagement of the general ledger, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable in accordance with GAAPCost accounting, when requiredPreparation of monthly bank reconciliationsPreparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliationsPreparation of monthly financial statements for CFO reviewPreparation of any required debt amortization schedules, or depreciation schedulesPayroll processingFinancial analysis, as neededCompliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsCoordination of the preparation of required tax returns (we don't do taxes, but we facilitate the preparation with qualified professionals)REQUIREMENTSYou must love startups and have extensive experience managing accounting operations within multiple entity types. Additionally, you will possess the following education, skills and experience required to be successful in this role:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration or Finance5+ years of experience in an accounting roleMastery of the balance sheet and balance reconciliation processExtensive experience with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software packagesExtensive experience with Microsoft suite, including financial modeling and analysis in ExcelThe ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and manage a portfolio of dynamic and diverse clientsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate and take direction in support of the company's goalsImpeccable analytical and organizational skillsSelf-motivation and self-directionCPA is a big plus!Prior experience in consulting services is a plusPrior experience with accounting system transitions is a plusPrior experience with payroll system transitions is a plusOh, and did we say YOU MUST LOVE STARTUPS!?COMPENSATION$60,000-$75,000 per yearThe duties and responsibilities described in this job description may not be a comprehensive list. Selected individual will be expected to work on-site as part of a highly collaborative team in our Grandview (Columbus) office and will be able to travel to client sites within the Midwest.Hybrid work is available for Full Time Employees on our client service delivery teams following 90 Days of employment and meeting minimum billing requirements.
