Job Description
As the Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations for a busy commercial general contracting company. This position requires strong construction accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting leadership with timely financial reporting and analysis.

As the Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations for a busy commercial general contracting company. This position requires strong construction accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting leadership with timely financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper account reconciliations.
- Perform construction job cost accounting and project financial analysis.
- Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition.
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
- Coordinate payroll processing and related reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Prepare sales tax filings and support year-end audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Work closely with project managers to monitor project profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial construction or general contracting.
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and construction accounting principles.
- Experience with construction accounting software (Vista, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, CMiC, or similar preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA designation is a plus but not required.
