Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes. This role is focused on maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and stepping in to manage workload due to team transitions. This is a contract role with potential for extension but no conversion to full-time.
Key Responsibilities:- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy in the general ledger
- Prepare and upload journal entries, including exception reporting
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies
- Analyze financial data and provide insights on unexpected results
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and documentation
- Collaborate with FP&A and internal stakeholders to validate account balances and accruals
- Lead discussions with business units to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
- Identify and recommend process improvements for operational efficiency
- Utilize Excel and financial systems to streamline accounting processes and reporting
- Handle ad hoc accounting and financial analysis tasks as needed
Must-Have Skills:- 5+ years of accounting experience in the revenue and billing.
- Strong experience with month-end close processes
- Hands-on experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience working closely with FP&A teams
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Industry Experience:- Preferred experience in corporate accounting, financial services, or large enterprise environments
- Experience working in audit-supported or compliance-driven organizations is a plus
- Exposure to public companies or organizations with strict financial reporting standards preferred
