About the Position

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring transactions for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and inventory are recorded properly
  • Recording timely and accurate month-end journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Ensuring revenue and expense recognition is classified correctly and consistently
  • Preparing monthly internal financial reporting
  • Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors
  • Processing monthly/quarterly payments and filing returns for Federal Excise Taxes and various state tax obligations
  • Working with external tax preparer on the completion of annual tax returns
  • Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve accounting operations through technology and process efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum of two years work experience in general ledger accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Sound knowledge of accounting standards and procedures, including GAAP
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably Oracle
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft 365
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must meet airport badging requirements, including TSA security background check.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with company insurance criteria required.

Physical Requirements

  • This role primarily operates in a standard office environment and involves prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting may be required.
