The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant in our Client Accounting Services practice, you will manage day-to-day and month-end accounting for a portfolio of clients while becoming a trusted advisor to their leadership teams. This role offers variety in your work, regular client interaction, and the chance to deepen your technical skills in a supportive, growth-focused firm.
You will own key parts of the accounting cycle, contribute to process improvements, and help shape how our clients understand and act on their financial results.
What You'll Do
- Manage and oversee core accounting functions for multiple clients, acting as their go-to contact for day-to-day accounting questions.
- Prepare and review journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and accurate, timely financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes for assigned clients, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are resolved quickly.
- Analyze financial results, assist with cash flow reporting, and highlight key trends or variances to clients and internal managers.
- Communicate directly with clients to address accounting inquiries, clarify financial information, and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
- Assist with process improvements and special projects that enhance the efficiency and quality of our client accounting services.
What Success Looks Like
- Within the first 3–6 months, you are independently managing the full accounting cycle for your assigned clients with minimal supervision and consistently meeting reporting deadlines.
- Clients view you as a reliable, responsive partner who provides clear, accurate financial information and practical guidance.
- Month-end and year-end closes are completed accurately and on time, with reconciliations kept current and issues proactively identified and resolved.
- You contribute ideas and support for improving internal processes, templates, or tools that make the team more efficient and enhance client service.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Background in public accounting or client accounting services is preferred and helps you manage multiple clients and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, and comfort working with multiple systems and client environments.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear written and verbal communication with clients and colleagues.
