    About The Role

    WEG Electric Corp. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.

    The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, and supporting critical accounting and financial close activities. This role serves as a key contributor to the month-end close process, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing leadership and guidance on accounting projects.

    This is a true Senior Accountant position requiring demonstrated progressive accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a corporate or manufacturing environment and be comfortable taking ownership of complex accounting responsibilities.

    This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday and requires close collaboration with the finance and accounting team.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
    • Perform detailed account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, documents, and reports
    • Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end close
    • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
    • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentation
    • Assist with the preparation of various financial statements and reports
    • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to management
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
    • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and prepare reports on budget variances
    • Assist with remote bank deposits
    • Administer the AMEX corporate credit card program
    • Perform employee offboarding tasks related to AMEX and Motus programs
    • Work with WEG Business Services (WBS) to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilities
    • Assist in entering accounts payable transactions
    • Assist with new vendor setup verification
    • Maintain records related to facility leases, including payment processing
    • Assist with the proper recording of all leased asset transactions, both facility and equipment
    • Review and calculate internal sales commissions monthly
    • Maintain gross margin reports related to both products and services
    • Assist with reviewing drop shipment transactions for revenue recognition, including invoicing
    • Assist in preparing schedules for federal and state income tax filings
    • Assist with the preparation of indirect tax returns (personal property, business license, and other regulatory filings)
    • Ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting policies
    • Ensure adherence to all company accounting policies and procedures
    • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, supporting the company's governance framework
    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
    • Recommend and implement best practices for internal controls and accounting procedures
    • Prepare and submit US government agency reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) as directed
    • Lead or participate in accounting projects, such as system implementations, automation initiatives, or process reengineering
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff
    • Develop key financial metrics and report them to management

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    Experience & Knowledge:

    • 5-6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment
    • Minimum 2 years of SAP experience
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles
    • Experience supporting and owning month-end close activities
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, electrical equipment, automation, engineered products, distribution, or other related industries
    • Experience working in a global or multi-entity organization
    • Knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements
    • Experience leading accounting projects, process improvements, or system enhancements
    • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred
    • Experience partnering with operational leaders and explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders
