Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days in office per week
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000/year

Position Summary

Our client, a publicly traded global manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Contractor who can quickly step into a Senior Accountant-level role with minimal ramp-up time. This individual will support critical accounting and financial reporting activities, including month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, audit support, and financial analysis.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical accounting foundation, prior public accounting experience, and experience supporting public company reporting requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, complex business environment and can operate independently while partnering across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including preparation and review of:

  • 
    
  • Journal entries
  • 
    
  • Accruals
  • 
    
  • Account reconciliations
  • 
    
  • Variance analyses
  • 
    
  
  
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items and compliance with accounting policies.

• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements in a public-company environment.
• 
  
• Partner with finance, operations, supply chain, and business teams to understand manufacturing activity, inventory movements, and business performance.
• 
  
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, tie-outs, and responding to auditor requests.
• 
  
• Assist with SOX compliance and internal control activities, including documentation, testing support, and evidence preparation.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
• 
  
• Participate in special projects, technical accounting analyses, and ad hoc financial reporting requests.
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 
  
• 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 
  
• Experience working within or supporting a public company environment.
• 
  
• Strong understanding of:

  • U.S. GAAP
  • 
    
  • Financial reporting
  • 
    
  • Internal controls
  • 
    
  • Account reconciliations

  • Month-end close processes

• Advanced Excel skills required.

Preferred Experience

• Manufacturing or industrial industry experience.

• Inventory accounting and cost accounting knowledge.

• Experience supporting SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
