Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Edison NJ
Full-Time (Perm.)

Description
Client is seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for leading core accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting the monthly and year-end close processes. This role owns key areas of the general ledger and performs advanced accounting analysis while reviewing and approving work prepared by accounting staff. The position combines hands-on general ledger responsibility, cost accounting exposure, and operational accounting oversight, including customer programs, fixed assets, reconciliations, and transactional accounting processes. The Senior Accountant operates with a high degree of independence and judgment, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies while driving process improvements and supporting management reporting.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Financial Close & Reporting
2. Account Reconciliations & Analysis
3. Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting
4. Customer Programs / Rebates Accounting
5. Banking & Cash Controls
6. Cost Accounting & Inventory Support
7. A/P and A/R Oversight & Support
8. Supervision of Accounting Work
9. Audit & Compliance Support

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • ERP system experience (Microsoft D365 preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5 7+ years accounting experience
  • CPA or CPA-track a plus
  • Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred
  • Experience supervising or reviewing staff work preferred
  • Power BI and D365
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to maximize Performance, creativity, problem solving and results
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Multi-tasking and coordinating projects with changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of Windows based operating system
  • Ability to communicate and motivate clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts via in-person meetings, telephone, and written communication
  • People management and ability to make effective business decisions in the best interest of the Company
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Ability to travel less than 10%
  • Office Products Industry a plus
