Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our client's growing team. This full-time, in-office position is based in Eugene, Oregon and is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of structured accounting responsibilities and dynamic, day-to-day support tasks. This role is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights to management and supporting project-based decision-making. The position is particularly critical in a challenging environment requiring disciplined execution of account reconciliations, an accelerated and accurate close process, rigorous budget-to-actual variance analysis, and a strong focus on driving automation,process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare month-end journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations.
Own accurate, timely, and accelerated month-end close process within compressed reporting
Generate and distribute monthly departmental financial statements and reporting packages.
Manage intercompany accounting, including reconciliations of balances and debt accounts!
Lead preparation of entity budgets and support the overall financial planning process.
Evaluate trends in costs, revenues, and financial to support forecasting and strategic planning.
Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and readiness.
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve data accuracy.
Maintain accounting records related to fixed assets and assets management.
Develop and maintain financial reports tailored to management needs!
Cross train and provide backup support across accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, cost reporting, multi-state sales tax filings, inventory control, and ERP system maintenance.
Leverage ERP systems and reporting tools to streamline workflows, strengthen data integrity,and improve reporting timeliness.
Support working capital optimization initiatives, including AR/AP processes, inventory management, and expense controls. Ensure strong internal controls are established, maintained, and properlydocumented.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA a plus
4+ years’ experience in manufacturing, construction, or other job-costing industry
