DescriptionPart-Time Senior Accountant – Eugene, OR (Flexible Schedule Available). Hours: Approximately 15-25 hours per week.About The RolePacific Recycling is seeking an experienced, analytical accounting professional to support our monthly financial reporting and accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys accounting, financial analysis, and working with data and is seeking a flexible, long-term part-time position. This is not an entry-level role and is not designed as a stepping stone to management. We are looking for someone who can contribute immediately, work independently, and become a trusted member of our accounting team.ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Financial ReportingPrepare and reconcile general ledger accountsComplete balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare supporting schedules and journal entriesAssist with monthly financial statement preparationEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial reportingFinancial AnalysisAnalyze operating expenses and identify trends, variances, and anomaliesReview financial data and provide meaningful insights to managementSupport profitability and operational reporting initiativesData Analysis & ReportingExtract, organize, and analyze data from accounting and operational systemsBuild and maintain Excel-based reports and analysis toolsIdentify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and visibilityAssist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysisCompliance & SupportSupport annual financial review and tax processesAssist with property tax reporting and business surveysMaintain fixed asset schedules and related accounting recordsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredMinimum 5 years of accounting experienceExperience preparing financial statements and performing account reconciliationsStrong understanding of accrual-based accountingAdvanced Excel skills requiredTechnical SkillsThe successful candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets and using Excel to answer business questions.
