A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing construction team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, including job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, project billing, and financial analysis.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial reporting is in compliance with GAAP.
2. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Conduct regular WIP, month-end, and year-end closing processes.
4. Coordinate and participate in external audits, ensuring all required documentation is provided in a timely manner.
5. Manage all aspects of payroll, including processing, distribution, and reporting.
6. Perform job costing and analyze cost variances to assist management in decision making or other financial initiatives.
7. Reconcile balance sheets, accounts, and bank statements.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
9. Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
10. Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
3. Proficient in GAAP and familiar with healthcare industry financial regulations and standards.
4. Proven experience with external audits, payroll, job costing, and general ledger management.
5. Expertise in month-end and year-end processes, along with proficiency in reconciling balance sheets.
6. Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
7. Strong computer skills, particularly in finance software and MS Office Suite. Experience with accounting software is essential.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
