    Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

    Job Role Summary

    The mission of Fathers and Families Center (FFC) is "To equip fathers and empower families to ensure children thrive." The vision is that "All fathers have what they need to transform their children's destiny. We accomplish this by working with fathers and their families to help them to be better partners, providers, and parents.

    The Sr. Staff Accountant plays a key leadership role in overseeing the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with grant requirements and non-profit accounting standards. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven professional with deep experience in non-profit financial management, including grant accounting and the use of SAGE Intacct.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports as directed by the Controller.
    • Ensure accurate and compliant tracking, reporting, and invoicing of all government and private grants.
    • Collaborate with program staff to monitor budgets, manage grant allocations, and prepare financial reports for funders.
    • Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Coordinate the annual audit process and serve as a liaison with external auditors.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive non-profit accounting experience, including experience with grant management and fund accounting.
    • Strong proficiency in SAGE Intacct is required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local grant regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
