Position Overview
A leading global organization operating across hospitality, entertainment, and gaming sectors is seeking a Senior Accountant III, Financial Reporting to support the preparation, review, and delivery of financial reporting activities across multiple business entities. This role is responsible for annual and interim financial statements, audit support, reporting packages, accounting analysis, and reporting process improvements.
The position partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, advanced financial statement preparation experience, Workiva proficiency, and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review annual and interim financial statements and related disclosures for multiple legal entities.
- Develop financial reporting packages, supporting schedules, account analyses, and reporting deliverables.
- Maintain financial statements, disclosures, and reporting documentation within Workiva.
- Enhance quarterly close processes, reporting schedules, disclosure controls, and reporting calendars.
- Perform financial statement tie-outs, disclosure checklists, and quality control reviews.
- Support external audits, including audit schedules, requests, and inquiries.
- Conduct quarterly and annual variance and fluctuation analyses.
- Research and document accounting and reporting matters under U.S. GAAP and other applicable frameworks.
- Assist with accounting policy maintenance, reporting procedures, and documentation standards.
- Support internal controls over financial reporting and related documentation requirements.
- Collaborate across finance and operational functions to meet reporting and audit deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and reporting process enhancements.
- Participate in system implementations, acquisitions, debt transactions, and other strategic finance initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA strongly preferred.
- 4-6+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, or a combination thereof.
- Prior experience with a Big Four or national accounting firm preferred.
- Strong financial statement preparation and external audit support experience.
- Experience within multi-entity organizations and consolidated financial reporting environments preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP required.
- Exposure to GASB, IFRS, statutory reporting, or multinational reporting environments is a plus.
- Advanced Workiva experience required.
- Experience with ERP systems, consolidation software, and financial reporting tools preferred.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced reporting environment.
