Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a collaborative finance team supporting a complex manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and continuous process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles along with significant hands-on experience utilizing SAP ERP, including SAP S/4HANA, to support financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare accurate financial reports while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support financial statement preparation.
Utilize SAP ERP (FI/CO) and SAP S/4HANA to process transactions, analyze financial data, and generate reporting.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and maximize ERP functionality.
Assist with SAP system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and ongoing optimization efforts.
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and required documentation.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
Recommend and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls and increase operational efficiency.
Develop standardized procedures and identify opportunities to automate recurring accounting functions within SAP.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Demonstrated expertise working within SAP ERP, including SAP FI/CO, with SAP S/4HANA experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CMA designation.
Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience.
Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or financial systems enhancements.

Desired Skills:
Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
Extensive experience utilizing SAP S/4HANA for accounting and financial reporting functions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization and operational excellence.
