POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Accountant for General Ledger is responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting entries, preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, and perform ad‑hoc accounting projects requested by management.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGenerate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and support in the month‑end close processPrepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgersPrepare report packages required internally and externallyMaintain proper documentation and audit evidence is organized and accounted for within the departmentPrepare monthly account reconciliationsAdhere to deadlines, time constraints, and efficient request responsesEnsure accounting records and practices adhere to GAAP and company policies and remain standard across all business unitsProvide support, training, problem resolution, and development to accountants on an ongoing basis to ensure the department performs at a maximum performance levelAssist with financial statement review, discrepancies, and inquiry research with partnering departments to promote KPI successCreate a work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfactionTemporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessaryQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experienceTwo (2) years prior experience in general ledger accounting for a large‑scale resort and casinoExperience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with various departmentsExperience pulling financial reports and utilizing them to make recommendations and decisions based on financial dataExperience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliationsExperience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting including P&L reviewStrong organizational skills, detail‑oriented, innovative, flexible, and task‑oriented, and can work independently with minimal directionMust be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectivelyExperience establishing financial reports and utilizing them to make recommendations and decisions based on financial dataIntermediate/advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)Professional appearance and demeanorAbility to maintain the confidentiality of informationAbility to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and proceduresExcellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, Team Members, and other outside contactsExcellent customer service skillsDIVERSITY COMMITMENTFontainebleau Las Vegas is committed to ensuring an inclusive space and sense of belonging for our Members.
