Senior Accountant

Market America | SHOP.COM, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant will maintain accounting records and prepare financial statements and analysis.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, monthly financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standardsMaintains and reconciles all assigned general ledger accountsMonitors and generates reports to management of cash balances for multiple affiliated entitiesPrepares journal entries and maintains and reconciles various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate monthly processesAnalyzes business operations, trends, costs and revenues to project future revenues and expenses or to provide adviceCompletes assigned tasks in the monthly close processExamines processes used to generate the journal entries that create the monthly financial statements, and confirms accuracy, completeness and relevancy of the elements usedDevelops, maintains and analyzes budgets, and prepares periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs, for both operating costs and capital expendituresDocuments processes and desktop procedures used in performing assigned responsibilitiesEstablishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control proceduresPerforms advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential dataComply with company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as needed or requestedEducation and ExperienceCPA RequiredBachelor's degree within finance or accounting; minor in computer information systemsFour plus years of experience in finance and accounting or a combination of equivalent experience, education, and trainingSkillsAdvanced use MS Office Products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPointAbove moderate levels of English speaking, writing, and reading comprehension; active listening; critical thinking; analytical, judgment; mathematics; and attention to detailMarket America offers competitive salary and generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, life, short and long‑term disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, and an on‑site health clinic.Qualified candidates should apply online.
