My client, a growing organization in the food processing sector, is actively seeking a driven and seasoned Senior Accountant to bolster its finance team. This pivotal hands-on role is designed for a financial professional who thrives in dynamic environments and excels at meticulously managing and supporting all facets of financial operations.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the company's accounting functions, encompassing the generation of regulatory and financial reports, alongside the upkeep of a robust accounting records system. The position demands strong inter-departmental collaboration to optimize financial processes and elevate reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations: Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Execute month-end/year-end reconciliations, accruals, and performance reporting.
  • Generate timely monthly financials (cashflow), budget vs. actual, and KPI reports.
  • Ensure accurate integration of retail and e-commerce transactions into accounting software.
  • Process supplier invoices via QuickBooks and manage weekly cheque runs 
  • Collaborate with plant management on process optimization, cost reduction, and profitability enhancement.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Manage regulatory reporting and sales tax compliance.
  • Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen controls.
  • Assist senior management in tracking objectives and performance metrics.
  • Provide financial analysis for capital investments, projects, and business decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • CPA designation or an equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Candidates with cost accounting experience will be given preference.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting principles and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
