Our client is a growing hospitality organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining the general ledger, overseeing payroll and tax-related activities, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Job Details

Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
Prepare and analyze financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
Support and oversee payroll accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, and related reporting.
Assist with federal, state, and local tax filings and compliance requirements.
Research accounting and tax issues and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and other accounting projects as needed.
Partner with operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within hospitality, restaurants, hotels, or another multi-location/service-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of GL accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Experience with payroll accounting and payroll-related taxes.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
