We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic client in the home services industry. This is a permanent position designed for a diligent, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and a passion for the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
2. Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
3. Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.
4. Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
5. Report analysis and findings to management team.
6. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
7. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
8. Ensure timely bank payments.
9. Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
10. Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
11. Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
12. Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
13. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
14. Support month-end and year-end close process.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field.
4. Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
5. Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
6. Awareness of business trends.
7. Experience with creating financial statements.
8. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
9. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
10. Accuracy and attention to detail.
11. Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
12. Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
13. Proficiency with accounting software, MS Excel, and other related tools.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
15. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
16. Ability to handle high levels of confidentiality.
17. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
