The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, is expanding and adding a position for a Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain fixed assets in system; generate depreciation reports for posting and reconciling fixed asset accounts.
  • Record routine and nonstandard journal entries and supporting documentation in the general ledger on a daily, monthly or annual basis for accrual accounting and appropriate classification.
  • Complete month end inventory valuation process.
  • Complete month end analytical review procedures to ensure appropriate recording and classification.
  • Audit routine physical inventory counts (three to four times a year).
  • Serve as a backup to review purchase orders and supplier invoices to perform matching of appropriate documentation prior to processing disbursements.
  • Cross-train in other accounting areas.
  • Perform tasks in helping implement our new ERP, Dynamics 365.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

 

  • Three to five years accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment and public accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Well organized, detailed-oriented, strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter with ability to manage and complete multiple priorities in a timely manner.
