This role will perform administrative and clerical duties to support contract compliance, budgeting and other accounting functions. This role offers a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities:Ensure monthly profit and loss statements are an accurate reflection of the results of the periodEnsure accounting conforms to the Group Accounting Policies and Procedures manual based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Use all available tools to maintain the highest degree of internal control possibleBalance sheet accounts reflect the correct balance and are reviewed and reconciled monthlyAnalyze profit and loss statement and balance sheet for possible misstatement/defalcationPrevent earnings management through appropriate use and validation of journal entriesCreate and maintain day by day and closing checklists for all operationsMaintain accurate contact information on all field internal customersProvide daily support to field operations by training operators to use and understand financial information and back-office accounting systemsAct as a liaison between field operations and other corporate functions such as Accounts Payable, Treasury, Capital Assets and PayrollDrive, create, and implement new processes and strive to identify and implement process improvements for existing proceduresBe a leader in the department, assist peers, and act as a mentor to new or existing Field Accounting associatesIdentify best practices within the role and strive to improve processes and efficienciesReview client and/or 3rd party contracts to identify and interpret financial obligationsEnsure compliance to contract terms and commitments including, commissions, volume allowances, profit splits etc.Prepare monthly journal entries, payments, and reconciliations for such contractual obligationsQualifications:Four-year degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum three years full general ledger or contractual accounting experienceExcellent customer service skillsStrong coaching and mentoring skillsProven leadership abilityAbility to work under pressure of tight deadlinesMust be a quick learner and self-motivated, as well as resilientExperience with contract interpretation is a plusProven ability to influence and manage resourcesProficient knowledge of Excel, SAP a plus; Experience with Hyperion/Essbase a plusRelationship builder that is able to effectively communicate, written and verbally, with all levels of associates across the organizationApply to Compass Group today!Click here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
