Senior Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant for a consulting engagement with a growing organization in the Indianapolis market. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting critical financial operations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies

• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Support internal and external audit requests

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

• Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls

• Collaborate with finance and operational teams on special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations

• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar

• CPA designation preferred but not required

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, or professional services industry experience

• Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes

• Experience working in a consulting, contract, or project-based environment

Pay Details: $38.00 to $42.00 per hour
