This role will be deeply embedded in cost accounting and will play a hands‑on role in month‑end close, inventory and cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The right person will be comfortable operating in a partially manual environment while helping move the organization toward more automated, scalable processes.This position is onsite in our Irvine, CA office and reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting.As the Senior Inventory Accountant, you will have an opportunity to:Manage month‑end close process related to inventory accounting, including journal entry preparation and review, income statement variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliationManage inventory accounting, including standard cost rate calculation and review, cost absorption and variance analysis, cost and profitability reviews as assigned, and manage physical inventory countsCalculate and record the capitalization of inventory variances PPV/IPV, over/under absorptionEnsure and record reasonable estimate of inventory obsolescence reserve in accordance with company policiesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to inventory, purchase price variances and manufacturing absorption variances.Partner cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing teamsSupport audits and ensure compliance with accounting standardsAssist with process improvements, system enhancements, and transformation initiativesAnalyze monthly variances to budget/forecastInvestigate manufacturing related problems and variances, inventory transaction issues, and scrap & cycle countOrganize complex data utilizing advanced Excel and database skillsAd hoc analysisWork directly with audit and tax team related to inventory accountingProvide periodic reporting to outside parties, such as banks and government agenciesContinuously improve / streamline / automate work processes, reports, and analysesYou have:Bachelor's degree in accounting4+ years of relevant accounting experienceDeep experience with inventory accounting and cost accountingERP experience required (manufacturing ERPs strongly preferred)Understanding of US GAAP and methodologies for technical researchStrong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionallyComfortable in environments undergoing change and modernizationPay Range:Annual Salary: $92,400.00 - $106,500.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.We offer a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits including: medical and dental, vision, disability and life insurance, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, gear discounts and the ability to add value to an exciting mission!Equal Opportunity Employer Protected Veteran/Disabled#J-18808-Ljbffr
