Job Description
Kforce has a client in Milburn, NJ that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Investment Accounting team.
Overview:
This position will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling investment-related accounts, supporting the monthly close, preparing journal entries and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP and statutory accounting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and analyses
- Analyze complex accounting records and financial statements
- Prepare journal entries and accounting adjustments
- Support GAAP and statutory investment disclosures and reporting
- Perform analytical reviews as part of the monthly closing process
- Prepare and support monthly financial close and financial statements
- Apply appropriate accounting treatment for various investment classes, including fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, and alternative investments
- Research and respond to questions regarding financial results
- Support annual external audits and budgeting activities
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Identify and troubleshoot accounting issues and discrepancies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience
- The ideal candidate will have a strong financial accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with complex investment or financial statement accounts
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; Experience with statutory accounting principles is highly desirable
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- CPA designation is preferred
- Experience with investment accounting or financial services is preferred
- Experience with investment accounting systems or custodian platforms is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
