Description

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role partners with operational and business leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and fixed assets.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions for accuracy.
  • Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Prepare tax-related schedules and regulatory filings as required.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial analysis and operational support.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • CPA designation preferred.
