Senior Accountant

Overview Focal Point Care is seeking a healthcare Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Candidates should have prior experience in the Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care industry, and be familiar with Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and contributing to the overall success of our organization.Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yrResponsibilities Prepare and review monthly financial statements for multiple nursing home facilitiesManage the full month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reportingPrepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries (e.g., accruals, amortizations, prepaid expenses)Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany balances, and accrued expensesReview general ledger activity to ensure proper coding and classification of transactionsTie out revenue to census data and validate payer mix allocations (Medicare/Medicaid/Private)Analyze variances against prior periods and provide explanations to management and facility operatorsCoordinate with facility teams to obtain necessary supporting documentation for close itemsTrack and reconcile management fees, lease payments, and related-party transactionsEnsure all month-end close tasks and financial reporting adhere to internal deadlines and external reporting requirementsAssist with preparing workpapers for Medicaid and Medicare cost reportsPrepare schedules for external auditors and assist with audit-related requestsIdentify opportunities to improve close timelines and enhance process efficiencySupport ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as neededQualifications Candidates should have 5-7 years of healthcare accounting experience, specifically in the Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care industry.
