A Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting and financial functions supporting the Accounting/Finance departments. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and compliance processes. All tasks require a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.
Position Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant healthcare accounting experience. Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities and the capacity to exercise sound and logical judgment in a variety of situations. Possesses in-depth knowledge of financial systems, including general ledger, GAAP, financial statement presentation, budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with expertise in the use of spreadsheets and other software programs to maximize efficiency. Experience with Sage or similar accounting systems preferred. Familiarity with software tools used to identify and analyze quality indicators, measure variables, and highlight financial trends is expected. Experience with AI tools to automate reconciliations, detect anomalies, and generate predictive financial insights is a plus. Demonstrates an understanding of regulations governing the long-term care industry, including Medicare, Medicaid, and HUD.
