Lititz – Senior Accountant

We’re currently seeking a detail-oriented and team-focused Senior Accountant for Luthercare, based in Lititz, PA. This is a full-time, exempt-level position.

WHAT YOU DO:

As the Senior Accountant at the Luthercare, you will help maintain Luthercare’s financial systems and reporting by performing accounting functions that ensure accuracy, accountability, and operational excellence across the organization. You will perform the following tasks:


  • Own and complete various aspects of the monthly financial close process, including inter-company transactions and reconciliations, recording journal entries, and researching disparities.
  • Collaborate with finance and other teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with both accounts payable workflows, ensuring proper account coding, document retention, approvals and payment.
  • Oversee vendor compliance to include but not limit as follows:
  • Communicate with and monitor the performance of suppliers
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Establish performance metrics for measurement, monitoring, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Analyze opportunities for leveraged procurement across company.
  • Assist team in research of material vendors, service providers and supply chains and in the development of vendor agreements.
  • Maximize technological resources to derive savings, improve the quality products and services, enhance budget predictability, accuracy & controls, improve operating efficiencies and enhance profitability.
  • Assist with other general ledger accounting and fiscal department duties as assigned by the Controller and/or Assistant Controller.


EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)


ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

  • Five (5) years of demonstrating proficiency in Excel and related financial accounting applications.
  • Five (5) years of directly related professional accounting experience in a computerized environment.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and the ability to work independently using independent judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, manage multiple assignments of various duration and shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to work with a team, with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others.
