Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a client in Livermore, California. This role will begin fully in-office, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule after 90 to 120 days. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting experience, preferably with a couple years of Big 4 audit/accounting, and experience within a credit union, bank, or other financial institution. This position is responsible for general accounting, supporting external audits and examinations, preparing regulatory filings, and assisting the department with additional duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the month, quarter, and year-end close and ensure deadlines are met
• Provide financial reports monthly and quarterly and assist with the quarterly regulatory reporting
• Reconcile general ledger, accounts payable, and other accounts as required
• Perform all functions related to reconciliation with the Federal Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
• 1 or 2 years of Big 4 experience (CPA is a plus not required)
• Previous industry in a credit union or bank would be preferred
• Software experience with medium to large ERP platform is preferred. Symatar & SAP Concur is a plus
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, & Excel - Intermediate/Advanced)
• Detailed, organized, and an ability to multi-task
• Excellent communications, outgoing, a team player
• Collaborative, proactive, leadership/management capabilities

Experience: 2 years of professional accounting experience in a Big 4
