Maryland Neighborly Networks Inc. is seeking a full- time Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for the preparation of financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the completion of required Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and other state, federal and grant compliance reporting, supervision of daily Accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Payroll, billing reconciliations in Long Term Services and Supports System (LTSS), general ledger reconciliations, providing information to auditors and budgeting and planning information to the CEO. The Financial Director will also review procedures and processes to ensure efficient operations and strong internal controls.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Rules and Regulations (GAAP).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Accounting experience in a non-profit organization and knowledge of ICare and the LTSS billing system are a plus.
  • SAGE300 proficiency.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Paychex experience is a plus.
  • Strong reconciliation experience and attention to detail.
  • DDA provider experience is a plus.
  • Effective time management ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to be resilient as the agency encounters changing reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work with staff members from all departments and knowledge levels in a cooperative
  • manner.
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations and staff.
  • Prepare financial statements for the CEO and the Board.
  • Prepare journal entries in SAGE300 and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare the Budget with the CEO.
  • Provide reports to the CEO to assist in management of the finances and cash.
  • Prepare and submit required DDA reports.
  • Prepare grant applications and reports.
  • Review plan participants and balances monthly.
  • Prepare annual Federal forms 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1095-C.
  • Work with Financial Auditors to prepare the Audited Financial statements, form 990 and to ensure internal controls.
  • Provide information for DDA, Social Security and Workers compensation audits
  • Prepare annual census, cost analysis and management of open enrollment for health insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with 401K requirements and form 5500
  • Loan reporting for mortgages.
