We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced Credit Union team due to company growth! This is a permanent position that offers you a chance to work alongside industry professionals in a vibrant, high-energy environment. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the AVP of Finance and VP of Finance and strategic objectives by producing reports and creating strategies to affect desired results. Deploys full competency in extensive reporting methods and analysis.

The ideal candidate will come from Big 4 or public accounting; posses strong accounting abilities; have prior exposure to the credit union or financial services industry. CPA a huge plus!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Accountant (CPA or Big 4 and financial services experience highly preferred) to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals and play a key role in the financial management of our organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, analysis, and projections. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of GAAP, financial services, and credit union operations.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Performing daily balancing, ACH, wires, and GL review.
3. Handling accounts payable, investments, fixed assets, and prepaids.
4. Conducting budgeting, month-end procedures, and financial reporting.
5. Performing reconciliations, analysis, and projections.
6. Assisting in asset/liability management.
7. Preparing regulatory reporting, including FR 2900, NCUA 5300, IRS 945, 1099, etc.
8. Supporting external audit processes and SOP documentation.
9. Participating in the development of financial strategies and decision-making processes.
10. Ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Senior Accountant position, you must have:

1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
3. Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a plus.
4. Profound knowledge of financial services, credit union operations, and investments.
5. Familiarity with ACL, fixed assets, prepaids, accounts payable, daily balancing, ACH, wires, and GL review.
6. Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, month-end procedures, and financial reporting.
7. Experience with financial statement preparation, reconciliations, analysis, and projections.
8. Proficiency in asset/liability management and SOP documentation.
9. Experience with external audit processes and regulatory reporting, including FR 2900, NCUA 5300, IRS 945, 1099, etc.
10. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
